Rock Climbing Equipment

In sport climbing, the equipment is fairly simple. At the minimum you need:

  • Climbing shoes
  • A harness and carabiners for attaching the harness to the rope
  • Gloves or hand chalk
  • A dozen quickdraws
  • A belay device and a rappelling device
  • A rope
  • A helmet
